I did an analysis last year too, but don't remember what it was per pound, although I do know there were are a lot of birds that dressed out under 4 pounds.

SFG, Thanks for being a blogging buddy!

Susan, Did you weigh any of your CM's? What did they come out to? I'd LIKE to have 4 1/2 - 5 pound dressed birds, but I've heard of some (Mama Tea, I think) who had seven & eight pound dressed birds....going to have to ask her about those!
Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14436557172029575513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-628662603932607754.post-91483980483394902662014-10-28T14:43:30.523-05:002014-10-28T14:43:30.523-05:00I have to say that, although I also did not get mi...I have to say that, although I also did not get mine 'on pasture' as originally planned, my CMs grew very well within the limits of their pen. But I am with you on the poop layers. Geez. I think that I have an 8" high layer of CM poop and hay around their quarters. It's hard to do all the moving around with everything else you have to do in a day. Are they close to ready? What do you consider the ideal live weight/dressed weight for your birds? And will we both be zapped with the amnesia gene and redo it all again next year? 'Course, there's no way you can figure your time into the equation. And why would you when cleaning out their pen(s) can be considered a form of recreation? (I'm bad, I'm really, really bad!)

Congrats to Small Farm Girl. Those number of posts sure do add up (surprisingly fast) when you're not looking!Mama Peahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03649357184167949247noreply@blogger.com
